It was a bit windy on Monday, September 12 at ChildServe’s annual Golf FORE! the Kids, but that didn’t stop more than 100 golfers from having a great afternoon at Briarwood Club of Ankeny. From the fantastic lunch donated by the Machine Shed Restaurant to the record-breaking silent auction following the tournament, participants had fun while raising money to support children with special health care needs.

One highlight of the evening’s activities was a special thank-you presentation in honor of Gabus Automotive Group, which has sponsored the tournament all 18 years it’s been held. In addition, the company also ran a special promotion in July in which $100 would be donated for each car purchased. This promotion resulted in a donation to ChildServe of an additional $22,000.

Other special thanks go to American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company for sponsoring our media promotion on KCCI-TV. The silent auction and raffle set new records thanks to more than fifty prize partners. In all, the golf tournament raised more than $34,500.
